World Renowned Entomologist
Peter attended Darwin Primary
and Darwin High School and completed his Bachelor of
Agricultural Science Degree at the University of Adelaide in
1972. On his return to Darwin in 1972, Peter was employed by
the Forestry Branch to conduct research into native forest
ecology, plantation establishment and nursery practice.
Since 1974 Peter has been
employed as an Entomologist in the Medical Entomology Branch
of Territory Health Services and is currently in charge of
this branch. Peter's duties involve providing high level
advice to the Territory Health Services on Medical
Entomology matters, being responsible for the organisation
and function of the Medical Entomology Laboratory in Darwin
and to identify and investigate medical entomology aspects
relative to the health of the people of the Northern
Territory.
Peter was recently appointed
a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of
the work done by the Medical Entomology branch of Territory
Health Services.
